Green Hills
Lauren, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Lauren

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Lauren spent six years as a registered nurse, in the ICU, in psychiatry, and in labor and delivery before becoming a nurse practitioner. Those years taught her something most training can’t: how personal mental health really is, and how much it matters to feel supported through it.

She offers medication management and supportive psychotherapy for patients ages 6 and up, and she works across the lifespan. Anxiety, depression, or something harder to name, her aim is the same: a space that’s warm, welcoming, and free of judgment.

Originally from Minnesota, Lauren and her husband foster dogs through their local shelter and have a one-year-old rescue pup of their own. Off the clock, you’ll find her traveling, hiking, hunting down a new restaurant, or on a pickleball court.

Kara, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Kara

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Kara is a board certified PMHNP, with 12 years of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience. She cared for patients as young as 12 and as old as 85, and also worked on drug and alcohol detox units.

As an advanced nurse, she is trained and educated to treat you as a whole person, not just treat the disease, and to listen to you effectively. She uses an evidence-based approach to help you get back to feeling like yourself again. Her approach is all about finding the right balance with medication, using the lowest effective doses to get the best results while minimizing any potential side effects.

Franklin
Katie, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Katie

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

A New Orleans native who’s called the Nashville area home since 2009, Katie was drawn to mental health long before she became a nurse. Six years in the emergency department showed her how many people arrive carrying emotional weight no one had asked about, and working in Manhattan during Covid made the need impossible to ignore.

She treats the full range of psychiatric conditions, but depression is where her heart is. She knows how flattening it can be, especially at first diagnosis. Her approach is holistic: medication when it helps, paired with the other levers, therapy, movement, and nutrition, that move the needle.

Reaching out for psychiatric care can feel daunting, and Katie takes that seriously. She builds the relationship on open communication and trust, and works to make every visit feel a little easier than the patient expected.
